Idle Hands

So, while working on my new portfolio and website, Meg and I have been playing layer tennis for the past few weeks. Our body of work is entitled Bump Set Spike and can be found here. There you’ll find all the volleys, as well as a page citing the rules of the game. The image above is one my volleys.
I’ve whittled down the chaotic, aneurism-inducing, mess that is my plans to build a new website into a handful of websites each occupying a different purpose. Firstly, there will be the Portfolio – of print and web work, and this will be commercial work that I’ve done that I would like to showcase. Next is the Kokyū konnan desu (japanese for Out of Breath), which is my image feed. I’m going to try to become part of the bandwagon that is “Make Something Cool Everyday,” and this image blog will house that project. I’m also going to have a third sub-domain which will harbor my CV and Resume for employment and SEO purposes. Finally, I’m going to keep the blog going as a place for found stuff, photography stuff, bike stuff – etc. Also, Meagan and I are officially starting our new design studio called Matte Black for which we’re about to begin working on a website for, as well as our long overdue zine project from last year called The Stacks.
As you can see, it’s a full plate. I’ve told myself that I won’t be accepting anymore freelance work for the time being just so I can get all this stuff done. Some of our current freelance projects are: Hang tags for Arielle DePinto, identity and brand guide for Art History, website for FinalFantasy, wedding invites for my old friends Neil and Niall. Full. Plate.
Also while doing research for my new portfolio, I’ve come across some wicked inspiration. Kudos to these guys:
